Police are appealing for witnesses to an indecent assault that took place in broad daylight, on the streets of Wellington's Upper Hutt.
Around 2.30pm, police said the 21-year-old woman was walking along Pine Avenue when she was approached by a man who indecently assaulted her.
He then ran towards Savage Street.
The woman is now being provided with support.
Detective Sergeant Rebecca Cotton said two other women were also walking on Pine Avenue at the time, just ahead of the victim.
She said the victim had witnessed one of those two women also being assaulted, just before the man approached her.
Police are asking those two women to come forward, as well as any members of the public who were in the area yesterday afternoon.
The man is described as European, in his 40s, about 185cm tall and of slim build.
He was wearing a dark-grey knitted hoodie with dark-coloured pants and white
shoes, and is described as having grey/white facial hair.
