One person has died and another has critical injuries after a tree fell on a car in Bulls during a forestry operation.
A St John spokeswoman said ambulance staff were called to a rural property in Pukehou Rd at 2.15pm on Monday.
One person died and a person with critical injuries was flown to Palmerston North Hospital.
A third person has serious injuries.
A police spokeswoman said the accident happened on private property in the Manawatu town during a forestry operation.
A Fire and Emergency NZ shift manager said firefighters were called to the scene to get people out of the vehicle.
WorkSafe NZ has been advised and police inquiries are continuing.
