A missing West Auckland 15-year-old girl has reportedly been active on social media.

Sergeant Mike Colson said police are continuing to follow leads, including information that she has recently been active on social media, in the search for Skylah Bates.

"We urge Skylah or any friends that have been in contact with her recently, to contact Henderson Police as her family have concerns for her welfare."

Police launched a public appeal this week saying Bates had been missing from Henderson since March 17.

Yesterday, Waitakere Detective Senior Sergeant Roger Small said there had been possible sightings of Skylah in Ranui and more recently in the Kelston area.

The search continues in the same week Taranaki police appealed for sightings of missing teenager Rongomai Haddon.

On March 16, Rongomai failed to catch a bus from New Plymouth to his caregiver's address in Eltham, as planned.

Police believe the 16-year-old may still be in the New Plymouth or Waitara areas.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to contact Detective Anthony Temple at New Plymouth Police Station on 06 759 5500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
