Motorists on Auckland's Southern Motorway face significant delays after a second crash southbound - next to where traffic was being diverted to avoid an earlier accident.
The latest crash hapened near Penrose - where traffic had backed up to after an earlier crash involving a vehicle that rolled, blocking three of four lanes.
The vehicle that rolled on the motorway had already caused extensive delays for southbound traffic this morning.
The NZ Transport Agency said the crash was just before the Princes St off-ramp in Otahuhu just after 9am.
The rolled vehicle was pushed clear of the motorway and traffic began to move freely again.
However traffic has backed up as far as Penrose, NZTA said.
Some vehicles have managed to squeeze past the crashed truck in the left-hand lane.
"Drivers heading south are advised to leave the motorway at Mt Wellington and get back on at Princes St on-ramp," a NZTA spokesman said.
"Otherwise please delay your travel or use alternative routes to avoid the area."
