A fast and furious dispute saw two motorists smash into each other and endanger pedestrians during a reckless chase caused by an argument over a car.
Police are seeking the public's help to locate a car that was involved in a dispute in Napier today.
At around 4.20pm two people had an argument over the sale of a vehicle.
As a result of the dispute two vehicles were driven recklessly through central Napier to Clive, about 10km away, and it appeared one vehicle was chasing the other.
At times the vehicles hit each other.
Vehicles were driven onto the footpath in central Napier at one point, endangering pedestrians, police said.
The driver of that vehicle is currently being spoken to.
Police are searching for the second vehicle, a 1999 green or blue Honda Accord with the registration plate YS5189.
The Accord had visible panel damage and a missing bumper.
