The father and son who died in a crash between a petrol tanker and a car near Marsden Pt have been named.
Porsche Nepia, 31, and Tyrhys Hita, 11, both from Ruakaka, were killed in the February 9 crash.
Nepia's younger brother Orion Nepia has started a givealittle page to raise money for the costs of the tangi.
On the page he said he was "heart broken" by the loss.
"I am hoping that by making this page it can give both the Nepia and Hita whanau a bit of weight off their shoulders," the page reads.
"As you all will know our brother and nephew have passed away in a car accident that had happened in the Ruakaka area on Feb 09 2018.
"I am hoping that this page will help with both of their funeral cost, please help us as we are in urgent need for help at such a tragic time.
"We will be using funds to go towards the Tangi and funeral costs for both Porsche and Tyrhys."
Tributes have started appearing online for the pair.
The Ruakaka Skateboard/Scooter Park Facebook page posted a message sending love to the family.
"Much aroha to our local whanau with the tragic loss of one of our long time skatepark locals," it read.
"Porsche Nepia was a long time local skater who also put time and effort over the years into helping create our own 'local'.
"So sad to hear about the sad sad loss of he and his son Ty'Rhys .... our thoughts are with all their whanau and friends....
"Look after each other."
A Serious Crash Unit investigation was ongoing.
