A recent arrest in Palmerston North has brought the total number of arrests related to manufacturing methamphetamine to three in the area in the past six weeks.
Following a search warrant executed in Palmerston North earlier today, police have arrested a 45-year-old local man.
He will appear in the Palmerston North District Court today and be charged with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
The search warrant was executed after an investigation into his involvement in a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory in Auckland.
Detective sergeant Jonny Oram of the Manawatu Organised Crime Unit said this was the third person arrested in the past six weeks in relation to the manufacture of methamphetamine.
"Methamphetamine is not tolerated in our communities - it rips apart families and carries a huge social cost.
"Having the trust and confidence of our communities is essential for police, and the good relationships we share with them allows us to work together to hold to account those involved in the supply and manufacture of methamphetamine".
Police advise anyone with information about drug manufacture or supply rings to contact their local Police Station, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
