Get out the umbrellas as warmer temperatures will be bringing rain across the country.
Temperatures hitting 20C in some places will be sticking around till the end of the week, but they're also likely to be accompanied by heavy rain.
Weatherwatch head analyst Philip Duncan says subtropical northerlies will spread over the North Island today, and rain on the West Coast will move over into other South Island areas and the lower western side of the North Island.
"Monday looks even warmer with the 20 degree mark expected to be broken in places in the north or east, like Hawke's Bay," he said.
MetService is forecasting rain tomorrow for the western and central regions, and heavy falls in some parts of the South Island including Fiordland and southern Westland.
A wet Tuesday is also on the cards with heavy rain likely from Waikato to Taranaki, and in the west and north of the South Island, which could also become thundery.
Upper North Island:
Subtropical northerlies developing. Mix of sun and cloud with chance of shower.
Highs: 13 to 18C
Lower North Island:
Subtropical north to northwest winds picking up, especially around Cook Strait. Rain developing around Mt Taranaki, showers possible in the west.
Highs: 13 to 17C
Upper South Island:
Rain on the West Coast and some around Nelson, easing. A few spits possible into Canterbury and some rain in the mountains.
Highs: 13 or 14C
Lower South Island:
Rain on the West Coast and some patches/spits around western Southland and Otago.
Highs: 8 to 13C
