Police are hunting for a blue Subaru station wagon which was used as the getaway car for armed robbers fleeing the McDonald's on Hamilton's Greenwood St on Monday morning.
The car, with the registration FCG72, was stolen from outside a Hamilton address before being used in the robbery.
It is the third armed robbery in three days in Hamilton and police believe they are all linked.
In the latest robbery, three men wielding crowbars and wearing balaclavas stormed into the fast-food restaurant at 3.20am on Monday morning and stealing cash while staff hid in the freezer.
They fled in the wagon.
The police investigation team would like to hear from anyone who has seen this vehicle since Monday or anyone who has information which could help them locate the offenders in these robberies.
The men are also believed to have been involved in the robbery of the Jalaram Superette in Claudelands and the Holland Superette in Fairfield on Saturday.
The men used stolen vehicles, had covered faces and were armed in all three robberies.
