Hibiscus Coast residents were delighted to catch a glimpse of a small pod of orcas splashing about off Manly Beach today.
Resident Jason Bragg posted a short video on the Hibiscus Coast Facebook page of the killer whales enjoying the water this evening, along with the exclamation "How lucky are we to live here huh?"
People on a boat can be seen motoring about the bay as the orcas swim.
The post has been a hit with other members of the page, some of whom said the video was shot just a few minutes from their homes.
"Beautiful and yes we are so lucky!!" posted Hollie Watkins.
Debbie Vercoe "couldn't believe how close to shore they were".
Bragg can be heard talking in the video saying he had come down to the beach for a walk and spotted three orca.
"There's a calf and two big'uns," he said.
"We just saw a stingray jump out of the water. That's like candy for them, isn't it?"
He estimated them to be 50m offshore, but said they were only 20m away earlier.
