The man who died in a Hastings crash on April 29 was local man, 54-year-old Ross Leslie Hallgarth.
Hallgarth died in a car crash on York Rd about 11am that day, said Sergeant Paul Ormerod.
Hawke's Bay Police are grateful to the people who have come forward and provided information which may help in the investigation into the fatal crash.
The second vehicle in the crash did not stop after the incident. The vehicle was described as being a colour like dark green, from the 1990s, in rough condition and possibly a Honda Accord.
Several people have called police following their appeal on Sunday, however, they are still yet to locate the second driver.
Police are keen to speak to this person and encourage them, and anyone else with information which may be of interest, to contact them immediately.
