As Cyclone Cook rips through New Zealand, flooding homes and leaving more than 10,000 people without power, Kiwis have taken to Facebook to mark themselves safe using the site's safety check feature.
It also allows people to request or offer types of support, including food, shelter or volunteer aid.
However some cheeky Kiwis have been using the feature for other purposes.
Rhys Guscott requested help in Waotu, saying he was "looking for a girlfriend".
Chris Hendry in Wellington had a surprise for his mum.
Robert Allardice asked for emergency sanitary aid in Palmerston North.
William Inwood-Reardon asked for a volunteer to help him with garden maintenance.
Zeus Vincent asked those in Nelson to fulfill a dietary request.
Some people criticised those who used the feature to make jokes.
Aneta Mitai offered help for 333 people in Rotorua, saying "there's whanaus out here with flooded homes no power cut off from there families friends etc.... All jokes aside you wouldn't be laughing if you became homeless [sic]!"
Henz Tito was "absolutely disgusted at how many people are posting stupid immature **** on here, when there are actually people who need help".
Tito offered a security guard to check on those who were living alone or in a vulnerable situation.
"All you other knuckle headd pull your heads in and do something to help rather then making a joke out of it [sic]."
