Police want public help to catch a senior gang member wanted over the alleged murder of another gang member.
But they urge people who may know where Walter Reid Ngaau is, or who may have seen him, not to approach him, but contact police immediately.
Ngaau who has warrant to arrest for murder over the death of Tribesmen Motorcycle Club member John Henry Harris last October.
Whangarei Police Detective Inspector Dene Begbie said Ngaau is 54-years-old, 175cm and of medium build. He is a patched Black Power Member with distinctive tattoos on his forehead, both cheeks and neck.
He said Ngaau has connections to the Whangarei and Auckland areas.
"We want to remind anyone who may be assisting Walter to evade police that this is a criminal offence and we will be taking this type of behaviour very seriously. Walter should not be approached. If you know where he is, or he is sighted then please call 111 immediately," Mr Begbie said.

One man - Nicky Bryan Dodd, 41 - has already been charged with the murder of Mr Harris and police say another man suspected of being involved is in custody on unrelated matters and will be spoken to about the murder.
