Anyone who harbours a man wanted for a shooting in Hamilton last week will be charged, police warn.
The hunt is continuing for 28-year-old Te Aihurangi Edwards Tangiora after a man was shot in the leg on Sunday.
Hamilton Detective Sergeant Terri Wilson said police believed the shooting at the Seton Cres property was gang related and that a number of individuals were involved.
Police went to the Fairfield house after getting a number of calls that a firearm had been discharged at the property.
Wilson said they wanted to speak to Tangiora about the shooting.
They also warned anyone helping him evade police was breaking the law.
"Anyone assisting or harbouring Tangiora will face charges as a result of doing so," said Wilson.
The wanted man is described as 175cm tall and medium to solid build.
He often has a dark beard.
The public should not approach him but call police immediately.
The victim is recovering after surgery at Waikato Hospital on a single gunshot wound to his leg.
Waikato police said they also wanted to speak to witnesses to Sunday night's shooting, or anyone who had information about it.
