The body of a man who was found at Paekakariki rocks on the Kapiti Coast on Saturday was the second of two men who drowned after a boat capsized last week.
Jared Evan Anderson, 35, of New Plymouth, had been missing from the Otaki Beach area for a week, police said today.
He was one of two men who drowned while out on an inflatable boat on Monday, January 23.
The second man, Wayne Anthony De Bruyn, 52, of Otaki was found at the time.
"Police extend their sympathies to the families and friends of both men," police said in a statement."
Emergency crews from the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter, Surf Life Saving teams, Kapiti Coastguard and the Manawatu Coastguard were all called out to help in the search, when the boat capsized before 1.30pm on Monday last week.
Swells of more than 3m had been recorded off the Kapiti Coast, MetService said at the time.
