The fate of livestock trapped inside a cattle truck after it rolled on its side in Hunua, south of Auckland earlier today is unknown.
Fire services were called to the incident at 10.20am on Hunua Rd, a spokesman said.
"It's jack knifed and the trailer's on its side. No people hurt but cattle are trapped."
The truck was a "standard" two level cattle truck, the spokesman said.
Police were also in attendance.
A police spokeswoman said Hunua Rd was blocked and diversions were in place at John Hill Rd and White Rd earlier today.
The accident was cleared around half past one and the road was now opened the fire spokesman said.
The fate of the cattle was unknown.
