A tangi is being held today for a man who was found dead in a car in Northland, sparking a homicide investigation.
Moses Mahanga was found dead in a vehicle in Otangarei on William Jones Dr on October 4.
Head of the homicide investigation, Detective Inspector Kevin Burke, said a post-mortem examination confirmed Mahanga died as a result of a gunshot wound.
A tangi for Mahanga is being held at Waiomio Marae, and police are seeking any sightings of the vehicle he was using in the Whangarei area on the day he was found.
It is a 2010 white Mitsubishi Lancer with distinctive black mag wheels.
Police are also asking for sightings of a second, small, grey vehicle that was in the area at the time or shortly after.
