Anyone who helps a man who fled a Lower Hutt court and assaulted a police prosecutor they may face criminal charges, police warn.
Sabbath Tane Hendrix Mohi has been on the run since Monday, when he jumped the dock at the Lower Hutt District Court and fled just before 4pm.
Mohi is facing charges of possession of an offensive weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and assault.
He is considered dangerous and should not be approached, police said.
They believed associates in the Hutt Valley region and possibly in Hawke's Bay were helping the fugitive.
"Helping someone to evade police is a crime and police may prosecute if there is evidence that someone has assisted Mohi,'' police said.
The police prosecutor involved was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.
Mohi has a distinctive clenched fist tattoo on his right cheek.
He is 176cm tall and of medium build.
