A man with links to the Mongrel Mob has been arrested in relation to the shooting of a 14-year-old boy in Hamilton.
Teina Williams was arrested early this morning at a Hamilton address.
He will appear at Hamilton District Court tomorrow, and police are continuing their investigation. A police spokeswoman said he was facing only a charge of having a warrant for his arrest at this stage.
The 14-year-old boy suffered minor injuries after he was shot at an address in Norrie St on Thursday evening.
Police and the Armed Offenders Squad were called to the street at 8.30pm after gunshots were fired.
It is the third shooting on the street in 16 months. Last week a man was shot in the leg, and in February last year, a 29-year-old man was fatally shot.
Police are investigating possible links between Thursday night's shooting and the one earlier in the month.
