A tramper lost overnight in the Coromandel Peninsula has been found in the bush just before daybreak.
Inspector Jason Greenhalgh said a search was mounted last night after a woman in her 20s failed to meet up with her partner at a pre-arranged pick-up point at Kennedy Bay.
Search and rescue volunteers walked through the night retracing the woman's route before coming across her at 4am.
"She was found safe and well this morning," he said.

Mr Greenhalgh said it was a good result for everyone involved in the search.
She was being taken out of the area on foot.
