Police are still working to identify a body that was pulled from the Waitemata Harbour two days ago.
The body was found about 2pm on Sunday by crew aboard police launch Deodar, Auckland Police district commander Superintendent Richard Chambers said.
It is yet to be formally identified, a spokeswoman told NZME News Service today.
Police had been combing the area for Indian student Mandeep Singh, 20, who was last seen in a nightclub at the Viaduct in the early hours of October 11.
Divers searched the harbour for Mr Singh on Wednesday, delaying ferry services for some commuters, but called off the search on Friday.
"Police do now know that Mandeep was seen on a pier in Queens Wharf just after 4am on Sunday morning and was alone at the time," Ms Murray said.
"So, at this stage, unless further information is received, we are not treating his disappearance as suspicious."
Mr Singh, a culinary arts student from India, went clubbing with three flatmates in the early hours of last Sunday morning before they lost contact with him in the Bungalow 8 nightclub at the Viaduct Harbour about 3am.
His family has since said there was "only hope" left.
"There is only hope right now," Ramandeep Bajwa, whose wife Sweety is Mr Singh's cousin, said.
"[We're] not good, still waiting. We're hoping it turns out he was not there. That's what we are hoping."
