Police have named the truck driver who died after his truck plunged off a Canterbury bridge yesterday.
He was David John Tayles, 62, from Tinwald.
The incident occurred on Maronan Bridge about 4.40pm, police said.
The death has been referred to the coroner and victim support was working with Mr Tayles' family who were "extremely upset", police said.
Senior Constable Mike Seque said the family was grateful for the support they had received.
"David's family would like to thank those who went to David's aid yesterday and ask for privacy. They would also like to thank their extended family, neighbours and friends for their support," he said.
Canterbury Police investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
