A second person has been arrested following a spate of commercial burglaries across the Wellington region.
Police said more than 20 officers from across Wellington carried out two search warrants in Waitangirua and Cannons Creek early this morning.
A man who was wanted by police in connection with 10 commercial burglaries throughout Wellington, Kapiti Mana and the Hutt Valley was arrested as a result.
The man was due to appear in Porirua District Court today.
"We've been working long hours to identify a suspect in the recent spate of burglaries across the district," said Detective Sergeant Ben Quinn.
"It is great to have this hard work pay off and sends a strong message to other offenders that we will throw everything we have at these cases to identify a suspect and bring them to a successful prosecution."
He said "evidential material" was found at both locations, and a vehicle was also seized by police for forensic examination.
"Our enquiries are continuing," said Mr Quinn. "I am confident that further arrests will follow."
Last week a 32-year-old man was arrested in relation to the same commercial burglaries.
