A woman critically burned in a Christchurch house fire yesterday has been flown to a specialist burns unit in Auckland.
Police have spoken to other occupants and neighbours of a residential property in Linwood as part of an ongoing investigation into yesterday afternoon's blaze.
Detective Sergeant Dave Parker says the two people in the property at the time of the fire were taken to Christchurch Hospital.
A woman in her 20s has since been discharged.
However, another woman in her late 30s remains in a critical condition and has been transferred to a specialist burns unit in Auckland.
Canterbury police and the Fire Service completed a scene examination this morning as they try to determine the cause of the fire.
"Indications are that the fire was contained within one room in the property," Mr Parker said.
"At this time, police are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident."
