A suspicious package found in Hamilton public toilets this morning is not explosive.
Police said Defence Force explosive experts called out from Auckland this morning have deemed the package is not a risk to the public.
Waikato Senior Sergeant Andrew Townsend said an area around the female toilets at Melville Park was cordoned off after a council worker reported the suspicious package.
Police were "keeping an open mind" about whether the incident was related to hoax bombs left in toilet blocks in Hamilton last week, he said.
Two items made to look like explosive devices were found on June 22 and 24 in a toilet block at Gower Park.
A note found with the second item made reference to the original one.
Police are appealing to the public to come forward with information.
