Firefighters have contained a large fire at a car wrecking yard in Invercargill.
Emergency services were called to the Otepuni Ave yard at 5.45pm.
The blaze, which was being treated as suspicious, had given off toxic smoke and fumes.
Staff from both the Fire Service and police attended.

Fire Service central communications shift manager Daryl Ball said while several trucks remained at the site, the fire had been contained.
Police had advised members of the public to avoid the area due to toxic smoke and fumes and the suspicion that there could be LPG cylinders in the yard.
