A man who crashed into a parked car created a domino effect, managing to damage a further two vehicles.
Chase Kumeroa pleaded guilty to careless driving, driving with excess breath alcohol, and failing to stop and ascertain injury.
Kumeroa was driving in a 50km/h zone on June 22 when he lost control of his car on a corner and hit the parked vehicle, shunting it into two others.
Police breath tests showed a level of 910mcg, the legal limit being 400mcg.
The Whanganui District Court heard Kumeroa had replaced two of the cars and was dealing with a panelbeater to repair the third. He had also referred himself to alcohol and drug counselling.
He was sentenced to 100 hours community work and disqualified from driving for eight months.
