Police are asking for information following an aggravated robbery in Te Kuiti early this morning.
Sergeant Craig Lindstrom of Te Kuiti Police said a man walked into the Mobil Service Station on Rora St about 6:30am with a large knife. He asked the attendant on duty for cigarettes and told him to open the till.
The offender fled the store on foot after snatching the cigarettes and cash.
Mr Lindstrom said the offender is a male caucasian who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a scarf and dark sunglasses over his face.
Police are interviewing the male victim who was alone on duty at the time and would like to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity near the store between 6:15am and 6:45am today.
