A man accused of a murder in Christchurch earlier this month continues to undergo psychiatric evaluation.
A 24-year-old is yet to enter a plea to a charge that he killed a 54-year-old at Momorangi Crescent in Redwood on November 4.
The accused was arrested soon after the 2am incident and at his first court appearance was remanded in custody to Hillmorton Hospital.
Suppressions cover both men.
Today, at the High Court in Christchurch, Crown prosecutor Christopher Lange asked for a further remand to allow the accused to be given a psychiatric assessment under the Criminal Procedures (Mentally Impaired Persons) Act.
Justice Graham Panckhurst remanded the man without plea to February 7 to allow time for the psychiatric assessments to be completed and reports to be made available.
