The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has confirmed the name of a young New Zealander who died in Mauritius.
He was 23-year-old Campbell Adams, from Whangarei.
It has been reported that Mr Adams died in a motor accident in the Indian Ocean island nation on Monday.
A spokesman for the ministry said it was aware of his death and had been in contact with his family. The ministry would not make any further comment.
A family representative said they did not wish to speak publicly about what happened.
According to his death notice, Mr Adams' funeral will be held at Parua Bay Community Hall on November 5.
