A soldier who went missing overnight in Golden Bay after failing to return from an army training exercise has been found.
The man went missing on the Heaphy Track in Takaka around 10pm last night after he was separated from his tramping party, police said.
He was found about 8am by his New Zealand Defence Force colleagues.
Police decided it was not immediately necessary to send out search and rescue teams as the man was well-equipped and conditions were good.
