Firefighters have extinguished a large fire at recycling centre in South Auckland overnight.
Fire Service northern communications shift manager Colin Underdown said multiple calls were received reporting a fire at the Pink Bin Company on Greyson Avenue, Papatoetoe, about 12.57am.
On arrival the building was "well involved" in fire, he said.
At the height of the blaze, 18 fire trucks were at the scene.

The fire has been extinguished, but crews remain at the site on standby.
It is not known whether the fire is suspicious and fire safety officer will investigate this morning.
