Police have released the name of a tramper missing in Auckland's Hunua Ranges.
Ronnie Fong, formally known as Ronnie Kumar, has not been heard from since Saturday afternoon when he text friends to say he was delayed.
Police said he was wearing just a lightweight jacket and shorts.
Search and rescue coordinator Sergeant Dene Duthie said the focus today has been on bait lines set between tracks through the bush.
Mr Duthie said police remain hopeful the 36-year-old will be located safe and well, although are concerned Mr Fong's clothing is not suitable for the conditions.
"It is of concern - it is raining here and very windy and it is predicted to get worse."
"We've got Auckland and Waikato Police Search and Rescue, we've got Land SAR volunteers from the Waikato and Auckland, the Air Force Civil Defence Response Group are here from Whenuapai and the No. 3 Squadron Iroquois [helicopter] is here to transport teams, although they're at a stage where the weather is packing up [and may not be able to continue]. And the police Eagle [helicopter] is here searching as well," Mr Duthie said.
