Invercargill Police are investigating a brutal invasion where a 62-year-old man was bound and gagged.
The victim was confronted by at least two male intruders at around lunchtime yesterday, when he was bound and gagged. He was found at around 4pm yesterday by a family member.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Southland Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Police have yet to formally speak to the victim and hope to do so in the coming days.
The scene, at a Conon Street address which is situated in the block between Grace Street and Dalrymple Street, has been cordoned off overnight and will be the subject of a police examination today.
Police would like to hear from any members of the public who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident.
