A man died after being crushed while working on a vehicle in New Plymouth today.
His death is being investigated by the Department of Labour and police.
The Daily News reported emergency services were called to J Swap Contractors in Bell Block about 7.30am.
Sergeant Ross Wright said the dead man was a 46-year-old South African truck mechanic.

"He died while working on a client's vehicle," Mr Wright said.
"It appears that the deceased has suffered a fatal crushing injury to his upper torso area."
The man's name has not yet been released.
