The roof of a Taranaki truck workshop has collapsed in a large fire this morning.
Firefighters were called to the workshop at the old Inglewood saleyards, about 18km southeast of New Plymouth, at 4.20am.
The 30m by 60m building was well ablaze when two fire crews from Inglewood and three from New Plymouth arrived, Fire Service southern communications shift manager David Meikle said.
"The roof has collapsed so she's severely damaged," he told NZPA.
"The fire's under control. The brigade is still there, they're dampening down and they'll be there for some while yet."
Nobody was thought to have been inside but some vehicles were presumed to have been damaged.
