The driver of a refrigerated truck carrying a 12m container full of avocados was injured when it crashed through a barrier and dropped 10m down a bank into a quarry on Friday evening.
Warkworth fire brigade cut the truck's body to free the driver, who was flown to Auckland Hospital.
