Auckland Councillor Jami-Lee Ross has announced he'll be seeking the National Party candidacy for Botany following Pansy Wong's resignation.
Mr Ross currently represents the Howick ward which encompasses Botany, Howick and Pakuranga.
He says, if he's successful in winning National's selection and the by-election, he'll step down as a member of the Auckland council, as it wouldn't be possible to do justice to both jobs.
