A 41-year-old Christchurch man accused of masquerading as an earthquake official and using false documentation is denying all charges.
Mark Burton Mabin, of suburban Somerfield, indicated he planned to defend the four charges at an appearance before Judge Patricia Costigan in Christchurch District Court today.
He was remanded on bail to a status hearing on November 15.
Mabin is charged with making a false Earthquake Commission identification card in the days after the September 4 earthquake and using the card as if it were genuine.
He is also charged with falsely representing himself to be a person carrying out civil defence duties on September 11 and 18.
