TVNZ's chairman, Sir John Anderson, and Chief Executive, Rick Ellis, say the Governor General, Sir Anand Satyanand, has accepted an apology they offered to him in person regarding Paul Henry's remarks.
The TVNZ website reported that the apology was presented and accepted at a meeting at Government House in Auckland.
Former Breakfast host Henry was forced to resign after asking Prime Minister John Key during an interview if Sir Anand was "even a New Zealander" and whether his successor would "look and sound like a New Zealander".
