Police have named the man killed when his van was engulfed by flames in south Canterbury on Sunday morning.
He was Kevin Leslie Stringer, 56, of Queenstown.
A passing motorist noticed the 1992 Toyota Hiace light van ablaze shortly after 7am on Sunday at a reserve at Hanging Rock, about 23km southwest of Geraldine.
A post-mortem examination was carried out in Christchurch yesterday.
Investigations have confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances but the reason for the fire could not be given, Detective Sergeant Dylan Murray, of Timaru, said.
