The 16-year-old alleged robber of an Auckland Post Shop got around the corner before being arrested today.
Police said the teenager made off with a small amount of money after handing a note demanding cash to the teller in the Mokoia Road, Birkenhead shop about 1.30pm.
Police found the youth on a nearby street , arrested him and recovered all the money.
He will appear in the youth section of North Shore District Court tomorrow, a police spokesman said.
