The man accused of a brutal attack on a pensioner, which left the 85 year-old unconscious, has appeared in the Manukau District Court this morning
Louis Watts was left bruised, bloodied and unconscious from the attack in his retirement home unit on April 8.
Esen Pona, 18, of Wiri was further remanded in custody until next month by Judge Anna Johns.
Mr Watts was discharged from hospital on April 14 after spending a week recovering in Middlemore Hospital.
