Police are promising a crackdown on out-of-town boy racers at Mt Maunganui this Labour weekend.
The town is already popular with local boy racers and police say the problem worsens on public holidays when visitors arrive from other areas.
Yesterday, traffic chief Senior Sergeant Ian Campion warned visiting boy racers they also faced losing their vehicles if they misbehaved.
