An Auckland postie says he has been sacked by New Zealand Post because he refused to work overtime.
Mark Mattat had to work 11 hours overtime one week then 13 hours the next, said Postal Workers Association organiser Mike Treen.
After receiving no guide from NZ Post on what it deemed the "reasonable" amount of overtime stipulated in his contract, he wrote to his employer saying he would work no more than five hours of overtime in any week and work overtime no more than three times a week.
