Police have withdrawn what would have been groundbreaking legal charges against an Auckland mother who allegedly smoked P in front of her children.
Adriene Johnson, 27, will be sentenced on two charges next month, but two counts of administering the highly addictive drug methamphetamine to her children were withdrawn this week.
Crown prosecutor Scott McColgan said it was "not viable" to continue with the charges after Johnson pleaded guilty to others.
An earlier Herald on Sunday report was incorrect when it said she had pleaded guilty to the administering charges. And Johnson's partner Lance Rasmussen, who is still on the run, is not the father of her children, 3 and 6. The Herald on Sunday apologises for those errors.
