Both of the men missing after their small boat capsized off Wellington's south coast last night have been found alive.
One is "fit and well" and the other has been taken directly to hospital from the water, a police spokesman said.
Another man in the boat made it to shore himself in the early hours of this morning.
The three were reported missing at 6pm yesterday when a police patrol saw a car and trailer sitting at the boat ramp, police communications inspector Mark Oliver said.
The man who swam to shore earlier told police he feared one of his companions had died.
Six boats and two rescue helicopters were involved in an extensive search for the missing men this morning.
