Masterton District Council is delighted with the response to the Wairarapa Community Alcohol Survey, with more than 2000 people expressing an opinion.
As an incentive, a $200 Pak'n Save grocery voucher was offered as a prize to a randomly chosen submitter.
That turned out to be Kate Garrett of Masterton, who filled in her survey online.
Civic duty, rather than the hope of a grocery win, prompted her, as she had not realised there was a prize on offer.
"I'm rapt," she told the Times-Age.
She had never participated in surveys at her previous address in the Hutt Valley, but felt it was time her word counted.
The survey, which closed at the end of April, will be used by the Wairarapa Liquor Working Group to help develop Wairarapa's Local Alcohol Policy.
The IPCA is investigating Deputy Commissioner Jevon McSkimming.
