A motorist has posted footage on Reddit of his scary encounter with a truck driving on the wrong side of the road in New Zealand.
The video, uploaded to Reddit by user bobnine, shows dashcam footage taken yesterday afternoon on the bridge on State Highway One over the Tauranga-Taupo River.
Footage shows it was raining when both vehicles nearly collided on the road.
The driver seems to approach the corner doing more than 50km/h, over the recommended 35km/h, but quickly slowed right down as the truck approached.
The footage caused discussion on Reddit where some users agreed that, while the truck driver had definitely crossed the centre line into the wrong lane, the motorist filming the video was travelling above the recommended safe speed for the road and the conditions.
Some users identified the area - State Highway 1 near Turangi - as being problematic with the number of trucks slowing traffic down.
"That's why I always take the western route around Taupo; Too many trucks making me slow down," one user said.
