Yes, Federated Farmers will be at New Zealand's premier Fieldays event.
We will be located at site PB41 in the Main Pavilion and we're looking forward to those interesting and thought-provoking encounters with farmers and visitors.
We value straight-talking, experienced farmers expressing their concerns on the issues and challenges they face in their farming business. This information influences and shapes Federated Farmers' thinking on policies, rules and recommendations for building a resilient, sustainable and profitable agriculture sector.
Fieldays presents yet another opportunity for farmers and others to learn more from the Federation's farming leaders, policy and industry experts.
We act responsibly influencing the decision makers on the big issues within the primary sector, including water, climate change, land use, health and safety, science and innovation and how these impact on farming and the rural economy.
The latest versions of our contracts and agreements for employment, sharemilking, contract milking, grazing and land lease will be available for purchase.
These agreements are designed and developed by our working groups of farmers and legal professionals. Last year 15,000 farmers made the wise choice for their farming business to use our proven, industry-leading contracts and agreements.
Like other exhibitors, Federated Farmers will be celebrating the primary sector achievements, and communicating positive farming stories to young people and "urban and city" visitors to Fieldays. As part of showcasing our industry, we are pleased to be hosting two sessions in the seminar series in partnership with Fieldays.
"The Essence of Farming - water, land and capability"; Jacqueline Rowarth, Professor of Economics, will be promoting the need for strong leadership on the challenges with our water resource; Charles Crothers, Professor of Sociology, looks at the competing pressures on land use; and Mark Jeffries, Primary ITO chief executive, discusses the drive for greater people capability within the primary sector to achieve our economic goals.
"The Precise Recipe" explores the role of technology at both ends of the supply chain, production and consumption.
Mark Burgess from the Institute for Innovation in Biotechnology will highlight the benefits of technology transfer from other industries into the primary sector.
Armin Werner will look at the emerging technologies and the future for precision farming.
Federated Farmers is proud to be an influential part of New Zealand's largest industry and the amazing people and capability that exists through to the supply chain. Experience it at this year's Fieldays.
